PHIF 5

SUBMISSION GUIDELINES

Submissions are open to all types of improvisation and all ensemble sizes. Submissions from scripted forms of live entertainment such as sketch or standup will not be accepted.

Submission Deadline: July 7th, 2009
Submission Fee: $25


Groups will receive notification on their acceptance status on or around July 14th. Upon acceptance, groups will receive a statement for their total registration cost, based on a rate of $25 for each performer included on their submission form. The fee will be due only once per individual, regardless of the number of accepted groups a person may perform with.

Groups will have ten days to confirm their performance slot by providing the registration balance, after which, the fee will increase to $35 per performer. Groups who fail to submit registration balances by July 31st will forfeit their performance slot.


All fees are non-refundable.

In addition to their 25 minute performance slot, all PHIF 5 Performers will receive a performer packet that includes:

- A PHIF 5 t-shirt
- A 30% discount on workshops

All submissions will be processed digitally via our online form.

The form requires general information about the name of your group, your format, primary contact person, individual performer names, technical requirements and other information used to assess your application. In addition to this information, you should also have ready:

Video: A link to streaming video (YouTube, Google Video, Vimeo, etc). Full length performances are recommended, but at minimum clips should be at least ten minutes in length and representative of the style of show you'd perform at PHIF.

Photo: We will also need a production photo suitable for both web and press. Images should be 300 dpi or better, in JPEG, GIF, PDF or PSD format. Text-free images are preferred.

Submission Fee: A $25 non-refundable fee will be assessed at the time of your submission. Once you complete the form, you will be directed to a page where you can use EFT or credit card via Paypal.


If you haven't submitted in the past, we recommend mailing a press kit in addition to your online application. They can be shipped via USPS or other carrier (marked no signature required) to:

Once received, all submission materials become the property of the Philadelphia Improv Festival and will not be returned.
