Truth, honesty, reality: The easiest and most effective way to hook, and keep, an audience. Participants will learn to mine their own lives for comedic gold while exploring monologue and reality based long-form improv structures. Students will then learn to incorporate these valuable techniques into their own improvisation, whatever the form or style.

Melissa Cathcart & Jay Olson have performed, taught and directed at many venues all over Chicago and at comedy and theatre festivals across North America and abroad. They have trained with Academy Award winner Alan Arkin and current Mad-TV cast member Keegan-Michael Key, as well as at Chicago's Annoyance, ComedySportz, iO (formerly ImprovOlympic), Second City, and Profiles theatres.
Cathcart & Olson are honored to be returning to PHIF for a second year.
